Swiftwater Rescue

I share this story for all those grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and other family members (or friends who are family) who have faced or might be facing a situation where children need a safe harbor from their own parents. This reality hit me and my husband hard in August 2015; however, there were signs along the way; some we saw and many we ignored. Our hearts were broken for our daughter and the road she chose to go down; yet we knew our grandsons were the ones who needed rescue from the swirling water they had just crashed into.

Blended Reality

This is not another book about step families. This is a book about FAMILIES – step, blended, whole, half, etc.

When we marry the love of our life and that person has children, we marry the children and their extended families too.

Dr. Kristy D. Smith’s book sheds a whole new spotlight on the topic of being a stepmom from the perspective of focus on the kids and God’s purpose for you in their lives.
